Hmmm. I can only tell that I am happily using it for a very long time
and it always displays the description of the key.

The pinentry does not cache the passpharse; this is the job of the
gpg-agent.  You may want to check your ~/.gpg-agent.conf for these
options:


`--default-cache-ttl N'
     Set the time a cache entry is valid to N seconds.  The default are
     600 seconds.

`--pinentry-program FILENAME'
     Use program FILENAME as the PIN entry.  The default is installation
     dependend and can be shown with the `--version' command.
