gpgme bug: verify + failed auto key retreival?

I got reports from people observing this bug in connection with balsa  
using gpg 1.2.4 and both gpgme 0.4.3 and 0.4.4. I don't think using an  
alpha version of gnupg is an alternative, as balsa (and it's gpg support)  
is somewhat "mainstream", coded into stock debian/rpm packages. The  
confusion coming with different gpgme version packages was one main reason  
to move balsa to 0.4.3. BTW, gpgme 0.3.x apparently did *not* have this  
problem in connection with gpg 1.2.x!

Therefore I (and the community, as I assume) would really appreciate a  
fixed gpgme version, as the bug is a real "blocker" for balsa with  
automagic key retreival.
