Subject: Problems on generating keys
X-Diagnostic: HTML mails are spam

Hello

I've just installed gnupg on a Linux 6.2 platform. When try generating a key pair, an error message results

Not enough random bytes available. Please do some other work to give
the OS a chance to collect more entropy! (Need 20 more bytes)

Can anyone advise what cause the problems?

Thanks in advance
Alex Lau

Cryptography relies on real random bytes. It is not easy to generate them;
we do this by collecting events from the OS which are not fully
deterministic like interrupts from the disk drive or a network card or
mouse movement. This takes a while.

Suggested action is to either move the mouse and hit on the keyboard (use
the shift and control keys to get no real output) or run a command like
"find /usr"

  Werner
