As the NEWS file for 1.0.3 says: * Twofish and MDC enhanced encryption is now used. PGP 7 supports this. Older versions of GnuPG don't support it, so they should be upgraded to at least 1.0.2 1.0.2 was the first version abe to decrypt such messages, 1.0.3 the first one which creates them. This new encryption method avoid a long known weakness of PGP (ann all other email enctyption systems). MDC = Modification Detection Code.
