Where is libgcrypt.a (version 1.5.3)?

Hi,

First, I want to tell you that I am very new with Linux (Ubuntu 12.04).

Due to the crash in* gcry_mpi_powm* link:
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/gnupg/gcrypt/61993.
I wanted to compile the latest libgcrypt version.
I got libgcrypt-1.5.3.tar.gz source code from
ftp://ftp.gnupg.org/gcrypt/libgcrypt.
After I compiled the source code with:

./configure
make && make install

I found only
- libgcrypt.la
- libgcrypt.so
- libgcrypt.so.11
- libgcrypt.so.11.8.2

There is no libgcrypt.a at all. How can I get it?
