Which however conflicts with the CPU-VENDOR-OS triplet ;-). A 64 bit
Windows is a still a Win32 based Windows NT OS where only the CPU is
different. Thus it should be something amd64-mingw-w32 or
x86_64-mingw-winnt and the former Alpha version would have had a
alpha-mingw-w32 triplet.
I have understood why this 4th variant of the mingw toolchain uses a
name which so easy leads to misunderstandings.
