As I use SuSE linux I thought that I'd try it out for myself:

checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu

It would appear that you have succeeded in breaking uname.
