More quiet than --quiet

Dear all,

I'm not on this list (so please cc), and I'm a newbie, but I have
practiced delayed lurking to see if this subject has been discussed
before. I couldn't see anything so I hope it hasn't.

I'd like gpg to be more quiet than --quiet implies, but not as quiet as
--no-tty implies. I have grepped through the source code, and there seems
to be two logging routines I would like to see shut up in some cases:
log_info and log_debug.

I figured, may these be silenced by for example using -q -q, analogous to
-v -v? Another idea I had was to perhaps let --quiet have an optional
argument, that can be any of "info", "debug", "error", "fatal", "bug",
etc., meaning that the type specified will not be logged.

Just an idea. :-)

Best,

Kjetil
