There is a key signature packet but it does not follow a user ID
packet.  It may also be the case that there is siganture class I
don't know about or just a bug.

You may want to add the lines:

  dump_kbnode (root);
  dump_kbnode (node);
  
right after the error message at line 598 of g10/sig-check.c to get
more info (send it to me or the list).
