I should specify how I agree with this. When I say, "Right, this is true", I
agree with the first part that you will probably want to opt for security
that will outlast 18 months by far, but to form such a goal as "for all
time" is really not *the* goal. It may be your goal, but not that of modern
cryptography. No current schemes, other than a theoretical OTP, will provide
you with security for all time.

What needs do you have that would address such large key sizes? That is one
question that should be answered.
