Building on a stock Red Hat 7.2 box (GCC 2.96, CPP 2.96, GNU make
3.79.1, kernel 2.4.7) works except for a slew of warnings while
building the tiger plugin "./tiger.c:870:5: warning: pasting "->" and
"a" does not give a valid preprocessing token". Shouldn't the
"hd->##a" be just plain "hd->a" here?  "hd->" itself isn't a
preprocessor token.

BSD/OS 4.0.1 has two versions of "make". The native BSDish make does
not work at all - make actually dumps core! The alternate GNU make
runs into some minor dependency problems in the Makefile in tools/.
I've committed a fix for that.
