Since 1.2.1 you get this status output (use --status-fd 2)
KEY_CREATED <type> <fingerprint>
A key has been created
type: 'B' = primary and subkey
'P' = primary
'S' = subkey
The fingerprint is the one of the primary key for type B and P and
the one of the subkey for S.
