Check that 'make install' put it under /usr/local/lib, and that this is in
your ld.so.conf file.

Also make sure that you have the correct version required for newpg.  I
installed gpgme/newpg/libgcrypt from source yesterday and used the latest
out of all the packages.  Everything went ok with these versions:

libgcrypt-1.1.12
newpg-0.9.4
libksba-0.4.6
gpgme-0.4.0

you _may_ have to remove a config.cache file if configuration failed for you
previously.

Hope this helps,  If it doesn't then attach the config.log file or
something.
