--edit-key redirect

Hello, 

I use output of 
"gpg --with-colons --edit-key key quit > file"
in my qt app.

All seems to be ok, when I call my app from console. But when I call
it directly from X, I get empty file, no output is redirected into it.
What should I do to get this output into my file ?
