gpgme with cgi

I`m trying to use the gpgme library in a cgi program, more especifically to do an import operation, but somehow it doesnt work and no error are indicated, only that the number of considered keys is 0. What is also very strange is that by calling the same function via a command-line program, it works fine! So is there anything different to be done when using gpgme in a CGI?
