Odd keyserver problem

Hi all,

I have an odd problem searching for a key on a HKP keyserver using GnuPG
1.4.5. Searching for a key using the mail address works fine (name &
address removed for privacy):

<snip>
gpg --search-keys --keyserver hkp://blackhole.pca.dfn.de '<... at ...>'
gpg: searching for "... at ..." from hkp server blackhole.pca.dfn.de
(1)     .... <... at ...>
           1024 bit DSA key 4DA565F9, created: 2004-06-01
(2)     ... <... at ...>
         .... <... at ...>
           1024 bit DSA key 7108E308, created: 2002-01-14
</snip>

When I try to search directly for the second key id above, I get the
following failure:

<snip>
gpg --search-keys --keyserver hkp://blackhole.pca.dfn.de 0x7108E308
gpg: searching for "0x7108E308" from hkp server blackhole.pca.dfn.de
gpg: key "0x7108E308" not found on keyserver
</snip>

Using the http interface of the key server properly returns the key when I
enter the key id. Using any other key server, I get the same results. I
am pretty sure this /did/ work with earlier versions of GnuPG. Any idea
what goes wrong here?

Cheers, Albrecht.
