FWIW, there is a Java binding for gpgme at

  ftp://ftp.gnupg.org/gcrypt/alpha/gnupgjava/

      50216 Jan 31 2005 gnupgjava-0.1.2-alpha-doc.zip
     204984 Jan 31 2005 gnupgjava-0.1.2-alpha.jar
         65 Jan 31 2005 gnupgjava-0.1.2-alpha.jar.sig

It is a bit rusty and probably needs some polishing but might be useful.

GPGME is a library to make access to GnuPG easier and the recommended
way for applications to use GnuPG.
