building gnupg with keyserver support but without ldap

Right now, openldap is proving to be a pain to build on Android, and quite
large to boot.  Is it possible to build gnupg with keyserver support but
without openldap?  I've been trying with the addition of libcurl, but the
build dies saying it requires openldap even though I did ./configure
--disable-ldap
