This also breaks the keyring for gpg 1.x BTW:

md at bongo:~$ gpg --list-sigs
gpg: packet(6) too short
gpg: keyring_get_keyblock: read error: invalid packet
gpg: keydb_get_keyblock failed: invalid keyring
[Exit 2]
