List of uids returned is out of sync with what gnupg knows (Debian #528391 pyme)

Hi Devs and friends,
just took a look at an old issue which probably is a gpgme issue:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=528391

Having looked at the gpgme documentation,
am I correct in that
a) gpgme does not offer a possibility to sign certain uids? The manual does
not expand on it. Maybe an example would be nice.
b) image ids are not supported (again, no mention)

I've checked https://www.gnupg.org/documentation/manuals/gpgme/
but this is really old (from 1.2 please take it down). And 1.3.1 and git.

I wonder what the correct way of fixing this would be.

Bernhard
