Hmmm,

  --enable-external-build-timestamp=foo

is quite long.  We need to use --enable-something however.  Would 

  --enable-build-timestamp=foo

be okay and to use

  --disable-build-timestamp

to change the timestamp to "[none]" or "1970-01-01...".
While we are already at it, we should also have a

  --enable-build-hostname

which is used by GnuPG to put that info into the Windows versioninfo
property.

I can implement that, but if you want to do it please send a DCO for
gnupg - which might be useful anyway.
