I rarely agree with HC, but I think he's completely right here.  Static
analysis is a wonderful tool for producing better code.  This is why I
prefer to develop C code with a C++ compiler, just for the C++
compiler's stronger static analysis.

(Yes, yes, I switch to a C compiler for release builds.  But for
development, the more fastidious C++ compiler is a great boon.)
