ah, you scan the Hash header of the generated detached cleartext
signature to know how to set the micalg? presumably the same thing
could be done by scanning the openpgp block itself, right?

ps i don't think anyone has proposed removing the Hash: header, we're in
total theoretical-land now in this discussion.
