On Monday's telco we agreed on that clear bug fixes (and I would also
say doc fixes) should be done to the 2.2 branch and then merged by the
hacker on duty into master within the next few days.

All changes for which it is not clear whether they need to go into 2.2
are to be done in master and will be cherry-picked into 2.2 on a case to
case base.
