These are in fact the only architectures currently allowed for Linux 
wheels: https://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0513/#the-manylinux1-policy
"Python wheel must [...] work on a stock CentOS 5.11 system [...].
Because CentOS 5 is only available for x86_64 and i686 architectures, 
these are the only architectures currently supported by the manylinux1 
policy."
