Hey Bernhard,

we can spend a long time arguing about context here, but I'd rather not 
remove the thread further from the core of it:

The quoted commit is a big decision for GnuPG.

It will have a large effect on GnuPG, its users, and the wider ecosystem.

This justifiably leaves people wondering what GnuPG's plans are for the 
future.
