I'm not sure why the list has been characterized as closed. It is true
that you could not self-subscribe, but everyone was able to post to that
list. We did add people to the design team after its inception
(Jeffrey), and I'm not aware that anyone was denied access to the design
team or the corresponding mailing list.

I'm saddened that your trust in the process has been shaken. However,
it is not true that there were design team meetings not covered by
public notes. In fact, I made a list of every meeting and corresponding
notes:
