cipher 10 not found

Hi!

I downloaded GPG 0.9.3, unpacked it, and ran configure; make; make install
on it. Everything worked fine, I was able to start the program and to
clearsign files as well as signing them. But when I try to encrypt a
message, I get the error message

gpg: Ohhhh jeeee: cipher 10 not found

What does this mean? Is ElGamal support not compiled in by default? I
really can't imagine this... What can I do to make GPG enrypt my
messages?

I have Debian Linux 2.0 running here, that is, glibc is installed, if
this helps.

Although I get these ugly error messages, I think GPG is really great
because it can be used with PGP and is completely free. Thank you for
this great piece of work!
