'make test' fails

Ooops.  Can you please do some debugging for me?

(assuming /bin/sh)

$ cd checks
$ srcdir=. show_cmds=. ./sigs.test

You should then see the command which caused the SEGV, please run this
command with the same input data under a debugger and send me a 
backtrace.  I'd also like to have your config.h and a script of your
configure session.

Please can you do this?
