what's the best way to find out which key-id belongs to some ascii string
representing a users name? i used to call pgp5's "pgpk -a <some-name>" to
retrieve a listing of which keys matched a given user-id, but there must be
a simpler way. gpg wants numbers to retrieve a key from a server, but at
times i don't have one.

how do i access key-servers by mail?
