Wrapping Anomaly?

When I decrypt encrypted mail from friends who use GnuPG, it shows up in
the text viewer with no wrapping at all. There is just one very long line,
with thick vertical lines where reasonable line breaks might have been.

In order to read the message, I must copy/paste it into a composition
window after which the wrapping is reasonable.

Does anyone know what causes this?

Nick
