error sending key : eof

I'm using GnuPG version 1.0.6, and getting the following error when I
try to send a key to the keyserver:

[silfreed@webcode silfreed]$ gpg --send-keys postmaster@microsoft.com
gpg: error sending to `belgium.keyserver.net': eof

of course, postmaster@microsoft.com is not the real email address.
Any ideas?
