Keys on floppydisks

Hallo,
I'm using GnuPG 1.06 with WinPT 0.2.1 on Win98.

My problem : I want to put all sensitive keyrings on a floppy disk.
But GnuPG and\or WinPT do not recognize\allow to change the
'Preferences - GnuPG - Homedirectory' into an external drive (like A:\)
