IIRC the people of c't use PGP 5.0i to generate the keys. This version
supports IDEA.

You could tell him to use PGP 6.5.8 which seems to support IDEA (at
least the source code includes the IDEA algorithm). Even better would
be of course to convince him to switch to GnuPG.
