revoke key problems

You can only revoke a key if you have the matching secret key. If you lost
the old secret key with the rest of the data on your hard disk, then
cannot revoke the old public key.

I hope the other people reading this will take the time to copy their keys
to a floppy or CD, and generate a revocation cert and put it in a safe
place.

I lost my first set of keys just like this. It is an unfortunate but 
effective way to learn about backups.
