Encrypted filesystems have little similarity to the functionality of
GnuPG, which is foremost an implementation of the OpenPGP standard.
There are other projects which tackle issues with encrypted filesystems.

It is mainly the fault of PGP for somehow getting users thinking the two
are tied together with the PGP Desktop Suite.
