Here's where I got that idea: =20 http://lists.gnupg.org/pipermail/gnupg-users/2001-September/010037.html Admittedly, I have very little experience in the area of character sets, being from the U.S. All I know is that I have to set my LANG=3Den_US in order to get special characters, etc. to work on the console.
