Can someone please help me!

I am trying to install GNUpg1.2.1 on a redhat Linux system.

It is a hosted environment - so I am thinking that it is a permission =
problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

I cant even finish running configure.

It stops with the following:

checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output... configure: error: C compiler =
cannot create executables

and the log has this:

configure:2254: checking for gcc
configure:2270: found /usr/bin/gcc
configure:2280: result: gcc
configure:2524: checking for C compiler version
configure:2527: gcc --version </dev/null >&5

configure:2530: $? =3D 0

#endif

}

Thank you so much in advance,
