I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with. First, a little
background...

- Installed GnuPG 1.2.1 (specifically, gnupg-1.2.1-1.i586.rpm
from metalab.unc.edu) on my Redhat 8.0 box.

- Installed GnuPG 1.2.1-1 (version compiled for MS-Windows) on my Win2K
box (obtained from www.gnupg.org/download).

I can send encrypted/signed e-mail from Win2K to Linux and decrypt/read
it just fine on my Linux box. However, I cannot successfully send
encrypted/signed e-mail from Linux to Windows. When I try to decrypt
the message in Win2K I get an error message that states "This message is
neither encrypted or signed." What gives?

I created a key set in Linux, exported the public key, and imported it
in Win2K, edited the key under Win2K and ran trust and sign against it.=20
I then took the key set I created in Win2K, export, imported, trust &
signed the key in Linux.

Why is it I can successfully decrypt and read an e-mail in Linux
(running GnuPG 1.2.1) that was created in Win2K running GnuPG 1.2.1-1,
but I cannot read an e-mail under Win2K that was created in Linux?=20
Makes no sense. Any help would be appreciated.

Summary:
Linux to Linux: Encrypts/Decrypts & verifies signatures like a champ.
Win2K to Linux: Works just fine
Linux to Win2K: Doesn't detect that the e-mail was even encrypted.

Please send me a CC email as I am not subscribed to this listing.

John W
