encrypt attachment os x / open with windows pgp

hi,

my problem is, if i encrypt an attachment ( word .doc / pdf) on my os 
x and send it to a windows pc, which works with the pgp 6.53 version, 
the receiver can=B4t open it.
i tried it with several endings : .doc, .gpg , .doc.gpg .

but it didn=B4t work ...
has anybody an idea what to do ??
