detached signatures

[Atom 'Smasher']

1) is there a way create detached signatures in bulk? this does NOT work:
	gpg -b[a] file-1 file-2 ... file-n


2) from the man page (EXAMPLES section) (1.2.3):
	gpg -sb  file
	make a detached signature

does the "s" do anything there? just a "b" seems to do the job....
