stripping PGP data from cleartext

is there a way to pipe data through gpg and retain information that's
above and/or below the pgp-header info?

example:
	abc data

	--PGP HEADER--

	signed data

	--PGP HEADER--
	pgp signature data
	--END PGP DATA--

	xyz data

normally, if that message is piped into gpg, the only output (on STDOUT)
would be the "signed data". i also know all of the reasons why it would
normally be sensible to strip out the "abc data" and "xyz data".

i do have an application in mind that would require data that's outside of
the signed data area to be passed through gpg, but i'm not sure if gpg can
do that. any ideas?
