problems with TheBat inline pgp messages

Hi,
mails from users of TheBat, which encrypt mails inline, using TB's
built-in pgp/gpg support over the PGPsdk cannot be decrypted with
Sylpheed-Claws.
The mails get a version line like this:
Version: PGPsdk version 1.7.1 (C) 1997-1999 Network Associates, Inc. and
its affiliated companies.
>From Sylpheed's decryption output window:
gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found.
gpg: decrypt_message failed: eof
Saved messages can be decrypted with gpg over the command line
without problems.
Is the version line too long for the decryption with Sylpheed or is
it a problem of gpgme?
I have posted this problem on the sylpheed-claws-users mailinglist too,
but still got no answers.
