Revocation of key with only secret portion

You can generate a public key from your private key.  How did you
attempt it?

Try this:

  gpg --export-secret-key yourkey > secretkey.gpg
  gpgsplit --no-split --secret-to-public secretkey.gpg > publickey.gpg
  gpg --import publickey.gpg
