Winpt error -- Sorry, you need a newer gpg version

I get this error anytime I try to start up WinPT on my XP SP2 system.

"Sorry, you need a newer GPG version.
GPG version 1.0.4 requred GPG version 1.2.4"

I'm running the following ...

WinPT version 0.9.90

... and ...

[C:/GnuPG] ./gpg --version

Compression: Uncompressed, ZIP, ZLIB, BZIP2

... both are in c:/gnupg

Any suggestions?
