gpg unusable from within an initrd

Or, if interactive mode is desired, place this in your initrd script:

mv /dev/tty /dev/tty.bak
cp -a /dev/console /dev/tty

#
# do gpg stuff here
#

rm /dev/tty
mv /dev/tty.bak /dev/tty
