You're constricting your view too much to just e-mail in your analysis. If you
look at files stored on someone's hard drive, you don't have a "from address".
The signer of that secret data in that file might be confidential as well.
I use the GNU Privacy Guard (GnuPG) in combination with Enigmail.
You can send me encrypted mail if you want some privacy.
