difference in validity states

Hello,
in /usr/share/doc/packages/gpg2/DETAILS there is a list of validity states:
[...]
n = The key is valid
m = The key is marginal valid.
f = The key is fully valid
u = The key is ultimately valid.
What is the difference between the meaning of n and f?
