Obtaining Key Stubs From Smartcard

Could you post commands entered and their result? We can't tell what
goes wrong just by this description.

It has always worked fine for me.

By the way, a quicker method than

> using keytocard, deleting the local stubs, and importing the sub-keys from a backup

is using keytocard and then not saving the changes. That way, the key is
both on the card and on disk.
