We did BITV 2.0 [1] conformance tests for GnuPG VS-Desktop and got a
respective certification. Given that the GUI part (Kleopatra) was
tested and the GUI is the same as in GnuPG Desktop (GPD), the
certification should also be valid for GnuPG Desktop.
Gpg4win is different in that it has no default configuration and thus
differs in some aspects from stock GPD. We won't do BITV certification
run for Gpg4win because this is too costly.
I have no experience with VPAT; but it seems to be a weaker thing than
the German BITV [1].
Although the scope for BITV testing is for all kind of software, the
actual tests and their results are imho heavily oriented towards web
sites. Properties of complex desktop software, like our certification
management, are not too well considered by the rules and thus our
certification reads "teilweise konform" (partial compliant) to BITV 2.0
(EN301549 V2.12).
Salam-Shalom,
Werner
ps.
Sometimes I wonder why blind users seem to like GUIs with screenreaders
more than command line interfaces. The latter are way better
accessible using a standard Braille terminal.
